Overcoming Gym Anxiety: How Bringing a Friend Can Help You Take That First Step

We always say that the heaviest weight you’ll ever lift is the door to the gym for the first time.  For a lot of people it is a very tough thing to do.  We have heard many stories of people pulling into the parking lot, sitting in their car, and then leaving without even coming in.  Or people typing up a text to us and never pushing send.  

I could lie to you.  I could tell you it won’t be uncomfortable.  That once you come in you won’t be nervous.  But that would be a lie.  

You are going to feel uncomfortable and you are going to feel nervous.  I wish I could tell you that you won’t, but I would be lying to you.  

How do I know this?  Because I feel all those things when I go to a new gym.  And you know how I make it a bit easier for myself?  I take a friend with me.
